Let's Celebrate!!

October 30th marks the one year anniversary of my first blog post.  It was a Monumental Occasion for me.

60 blog posts; nearly 400 comments; almost 100 new friends.  This has been a ride.

Let's celebrate with a gift...for YOU!

More on that in a moment...

My last blog post caused a bit of a stir.  Some of you agreed with my comments to the lady on FaceBook and some of played the devil's advocate.  For what it's worth...I LOVE hearing how you feel about these sometimes-controversial topics.

Hailey reminded me that it's only human-nature to be defensive if we think someone is attacking our belief system...which is clearly what I was doing to the lady.  That was a real ah-ha moment for me.  Sometimes, showing the Love of Christ is so much more important than being right. Thanks for that, Hailey!

Erin said that my post reminded her of that Casting Crowns song, "Stained Glass Masquerade."  So, true.  And yeah...I LOVE that song.  Who am I kidding...I love Casting Crowns in general!

There were so many other great comments...every one of them encouraged me.  Click over and read them; maybe they will encourage you too!

Ok, back to the celebration!!!

Because there is a real reason to celebrate....

You girls (and guys) have made this last year so much fun!  I can't thank you enough for being there for me through one of the hardest times in my life.  Your emails, comments and prayers helped....a lot.  Having this outlet of expression was a necessity.

There is another reason to celebrate.

Somebody is pregnant!!!

I'm not very far along.  I probably shouldn't announce it to the world...considering my history.  You can read my history here and here.  Oh yeah...and here, too.  Ya'll have been there for the bad times and it only seems right to share this good news with you...even if it is early.

I had a doctor's appointment last week but I wasn't far enough along to see a heartbeat.  They tested my blood and everything is on track.  I think I am about 7 1/2 weeks now.  I go back on November 1st for another ultrasound.

I want to believe that this one will be healthy but I am still nervous.  Please pray for me.  Pray for the baby.  Pray for my husband...bless his heart.  He's the one taking the brunt of the wild and crazy hormones :-)

So, let's celebrate!

I am giving away one $60.00 gift card to dollar for every blog post over the last year!

Hello...Amazon has something for everyone!!!!  The coolest thing is that the gift card will be emailed to the winner complete with a claim code so that she (or he!!!) can start shopping right away!!

***In order to enter the giveaway, you must leave a comment describing one thing you are thankful for. One entry per person please!  (Anonymous comments have been temporarily disabled and comment moderation has been temporarily enabled.) will generate the winner on October 30th!

So let's hear it....

What are you thankful for these days?

My Alabaster Jar

***This is not a compensated giveaway.  Amazon does not know who I am...I promise. Although it would be pretty cool if they did.***

  1. congratulations!

one thing i'm thankful for...that means i have to narrow it down! i'm thankful for God's provision that becomes more and more apparent, and for the testimony He is giving me to share with others. i really feel a shift coming, and i feel like it's going to be big...

  2. I'm thankful for my family. I know it's super cheesy, but without them I'd be so lonely...and bored. Congrats on a year and congrats on the pregnancy!

  3. I'm thankful for having my eyes opened to the needs in the world. About a year ago I realized that God was breaking my heart for the poor and orphans around the world. I am thankful God didn't let me stay in my bubble but broke me in so many ways. So many great plans are in the works and it has been amazing to see so many people close to me feeling the fire to do something too!

  4. Congratulations!!!

I am thankful for a healthy family, I have been thru the unhealthy part and it is not fun.

  5. I am thankful for my friends and the beach!!!

    and oh my gosh, congrats!!!!!!!!

  6. First of all, I am so thankful that Jesus died for my sins. I am also thankful for my family and friends.

  7. I am thankful that God opened my eyes recently to my mire and how I was lacking the freedom I so fought for earlier this year....and my blog friends...and my family...especially my niece. ;)

CONGRATULATIONS! I am praying for you and that precious baby and will continue...and will pray for your husband too. I am so excited for you. Just have faith in Him that all things will work for His Good....which is your good!

And not gonna lie...I would adore that gc....I am probably one of the biggest amazon shoppers ever. I could embarrass myself if anyone knew how much I spent there!

    Happy Blogaversary!!!

  10. Congratulations Erin!!! I am so happy for you!! What a great idea for a give~away celebration!! I am thankful for God's power, the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, and the same power that according to Paul He makes available to us...that power. My husband has just left for our first deployment, and I really thought I was going to have a harder time, but so far, God is strengthening me beyond anything I could have ever imagined!! I am so thankful for His love for me, and His protection over our family! And I am so thankful for His call for us to take this on in the first place!
